
Energy Packed Date Balls
Fuelled by nature, boosted by peanut butter, and 100% delicious
Perfect as a quick, nutritious pick me up, and with a small tweak, they turn into a post exercise protein win!
Ingredients
75g dates
100g pecans (or mix of nuts)SWAP *see note
1tbsp ground flax
2tbsp peanut butter (make it 2.5 tbsp if adding protein powder)SWAP *see note
1 tbsp cacao
1tsp agave
25g desiccated coconut (for rolling)
Optional: 30g protein powder (add 1 tbsp water if mixture is too dry)
Method
Blitz the nuts and then add everything else (except the coconut)
Roll into 15 balls and coat in coconut
Chill for 20 minutes
Store in the fridge for up to 5 days

You can swap peanut butter for a seed butter of your choice. My go to would be sunflower seed butter or tahini, both of which are safe for many people with peanut allergies. For those avoiding nuts entirely, replace the pecan nuts with seeds like sunflower, pumpkin, or hemp seeds for a similar texture and nutritional boost.
